As part of UNI’s Affirmative Action Plan, all employees are invited to confidentially self-identify their disability and protected veteran status. Information collected from current employees will serve as a baseline to assess the outreach and recruitment efforts that UNI undertakes to employ individuals with disabilities and protected veterans. This information is considered confidential and is used by the Office of Compliance and Equity Management for evaluation and reporting purposes only. Employees will be reminded of the opportunity to provide disability and protected veteran status information annually, and will be resurveyed every five years. Additional information, including frequently asked questions, can be found below.
Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to request reasonable accommodations, if necessary, to perform the essential functions of their jobs. Self-identification and requests for accommodation may be made now or at any time in the future. A broad list of physical and mental conditions that may be considered a disability under the Americans with Disabilities Amendments Act (ADAAA) can be found by viewing the self-identification form in UNI e-Business Suite. The legal definition of a disability is likely broader than you may anticipate and may apply to you even though you may have never considered yourself as having a disability.
How to Self-Identify
To disclose your disability and protected veteran status, access UNI e-Business Suite and click on UNI Employee Self Service. To self-identify, click on Disclose Disability Status and Disclose Veteran Status. Information submitted will be kept confidential and will be used for federal reporting and recordkeeping purposes only. It is recommended that Internet Explorer be used when accessing UNI e-Business Suite to self-identify.
